On December 7, I've attended the Alpha Bloggers Award 2007.

This year, 15 blogs were added to the Alpha Bloggers List. You can see them here [jp].

Each of the 15 blogs has its own character and specialty. I personally felt that the times have changed. In short, as Ichiru-san said during his presentation, this year's award was the "discovery of a new continent" of blogs.

There have been active debates over the pros and cons of the word "Alpha Bloggers"(or A-list bloggers), but personally, I think it is something like a recommendation list of blogs for those who are new to the blogosphere.

In Japan, we used to have many blogs that covered broad topics, but recently, blogs that specialize in a certain topic have been increasing.

At the same time, spam blogs are on the rise, making it difficult for people to find genuine blogs and calling for the need of such lists (These lists might play the same role that Yahoo! directories played in the early days of the Internet).

If you disagree with the concept of the Alpha Bloggers, how about posting a list of bloggers that had an influence on you? As more and more pople post their own lists, we might be able to discover some unknown great blogs.

In the end, I would like to say thank you to Tokuriki-san, Ichiru-san, and all other staff. Thank you for the great time. If there is one thing that is regrettable, it is that I missed Rolly in the drawing!
