ZAGAT Tokyo Restaurants 2008

In this article ("Michelin vs ZAGAT --- Who takes the throne of the restaurant guide?[jp]"), I learned that ZAGAT SURVEY was created to counter Michelin guide.

Originally, ZAGAT SURVEY was introduced by Mr. and Mrs. Zagat, who had doubts about the Michelin model which depended only on the evaluations by critics. So they started to carry out their own questionnaire survey to the public and made a new restraunt guide based on the results. According to the article, "it makes a clear distinction from the 'condescending' attitude of Michelin".

It seems that Michelin and ZAGAT are looking different directions. I saw ZAGAT has gotten some harsh customer reviews at Amazon, but still I appreciate these guides since I don't know many restaurants in Tokyo.
