Portable DVD Player for my Grandma

I have bought the “SMAG 7inch LCD Portable DVD player AZ-01” at Amazon's Electronics Store New-year Sale.

For my mom's funeral, I collected her recent photos and put them in a slideshow. It contains about 1000 photos so it takes about 30minutes to show them all.

It's true that my mom passed away quite young, but I'm sure her life was a happy one. I created the slideshow to show that and her last years to people who had not seen her long.

Every time my grandma visits us at our house, she talks to her daughter's photos and tears are flowing down from her cheeks. Seeing that, I decided to make a DVD filled with my moms photos and give it to her.

However, my grandma did not have a DVD player, and it seemed unrealistic to teach her how to see it using a PC. So I decided to get a portable DVD player for her.

My budget was around 15,000 yen and the AZ-01 was on sale at under 10,000yen. It didn't take much time for me to click the "buy" button.

Since this is my first time to use a DVD player, I cannot say whether its LCD screen or other functions are good or bad, but at least, my grandma could turn it on and off, play and stop a disc, and recharge the battery.

She now can see her daughter's photos anytime, but they are just making her cry …

I had been living with my mom, so had to force myself to move on. But for those who were living far away from her, like my grandma, it might be more difficult to sort out their feelings. I guess they need more time to say goodbye.
