According to a news article entitled “Site manager of Akutoku-Shoho? Maniacis to develop Google Hachibu Detection System under the support of IPA Exploratory Software Project [jp]” (*Google Hachibu is a Japanese word for being delisted or censored by Google’s search engine):
On July 31, Japan’s Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) has selected projects to support under its FY2007 2nd Exploratory Software Project (ESP).
“Google Hachibu Detection System”, proposed by Mr. Toshihiro Yoshimoto, site manager of Akutoku-Shoho? Maniacs, is a system to find Web sites under “Google Hachibu”.
Mr. Yoshimoto has posted an detailed entry about this project.
I’m a site manager of Akutoku-Shoho? Maniacs, but I’m a programmer in the first place A programmer must fight technology with technology. I must say that now is the time to use technology and build a way that let Internet users to watch search engines by themselves.
This project got a company name – Google – in its name. Impressive. “Centers of against for Google censorship” has already been up and running.
